The Yamaha YZ65 Cup is back for the 2024 Fox Australian Supercross Championship, bringing two exhilarating weekends of action. The young riders will take centre stage at Round Three in Wollongong’s WIN Stadium and the 5th and final round at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, where they’ll not only experience the thrill of professional supercross up close but also have the chance to meet their idols and race in front of packed grandstands.
Yamaha riders aged 9 to 12 will have the extraordinary opportunity to share the track with world-class supercross stars, immersing themselves in a full bLU cRU experience. This unforgettable night, exclusively for Yamaha owners and YZ65cc riders, promises memories that only Yamaha can deliver for these young athletes and their families.
Each round offers 22 young riders the chance of a lifetime, including a gear bag full of Yamaha goodies and the opportunity to meet Yamaha’s superstars. With capacity crowds anticipated at both venues, this promises to be the most unforgettable YZ65 Cup yet—an event not to be missed!
Mick Sinclair from the Fox Australian Supercross Championship was delighted to confirm the return of the YZ65 Cup.
“We’re thrilled to be able to again host the YZ65 Cup at two rounds of the Australian Supercross Championship in Wollongong and Melbourne this year with Yamaha,” said Sinclair.
“It’s an incredible and unique opportunity for YZ65 riders aged 9-12 to compete in front of big crowds, within major stadiums and ride the track their heroes will later compete on.
“Integrating initiatives like the YZ65 Cup at our events aims to nurture and inspire our youngest riders & fans and we are confident those lucky enough to be involved will have the experience of a lifetime.”
YMA Customer Activation Co-Ordinator Jake Belford, talked to why Yamaha was so proud to provide this unique experience to their young riders.
“The YZ65 Cup has been a fundamental part of grassroots motorsport in Australia in recent years and provides an opportunity for lucky Yamaha enthusiasts to feel what it’s like to be a factory rider for the day,” said Belford.
“We are excited to be able to provide two unforgettable rounds of the YZ65 Cup with the Australian Supercross Championship this year. Yamaha has been providing this unique experience since 2018 and are always thrilled to see the riders enjoy their day at such high-profile events and then watch them grow and progress in the sport in later years.”
